Málaga Fair 2026: Everything You Shouldn't Miss
Málaga Fair 2026, taking place from 15 to 22 August, is one of Andalusia's most important celebrations and a must-see event if you've recently moved to the city. For one week, Málaga comes alive with music, gastronomy, flamenco and a truly unique atmosphere.

Day Fair and Night Fair
The Málaga Fair is enjoyed in two different settings:
Day Fair: The historic city centre is filled with live music, traditional fair stalls, terraces and tapas bars where you can enjoy the festive atmosphere.
Night Fair: At the Real del Cortijo de Torres you'll find fairground rides, traditional marquees, concerts and entertainment for all ages.
What to try
Don't leave without tasting some of the fair's most iconic specialities:
Cartojal, Málaga's famous sweet wine.
Fried fish (pescaíto frito).
Iberian ham and Andalusian cheeses (jamón y queso).
Spanish omelette (tortilla española).
Russian salad (ensaladilla rusa).
Churros with hot chocolate to end the evening.
Where to enjoy tapas during the Day Fair
If you'd like to experience the best atmosphere in Málaga's historic centre, these are some of the most popular places:
Bodega El Pimpi, a true Málaga classic.
Casa Lola, famous for its traditional tapas.
Bar La Tranca, known for its authentic local atmosphere and flamenco music.
Bar Pepa y Pepe, perfect for delicious tapas at great prices.
La Tasquita de en Medio, ideal for tasting local cuisine in the heart of the city.
Music and live performances
Throughout the week, you'll find free concerts, flamenco performances, verdiales (Málaga'straditional folk music) and entertainment for the whole family, both in the historic centre and at the Municipal Auditorium in the fairground. The full programme is usually published a few weeks before the fair begins.
Experience the Fair like a local
Our advice is simple: start your day enjoying tapas in the city centre, soak up the atmosphere of the Day Fair and, as the evening begins, head to the fairground to discover a different side of the celebration.
At Welcome Málaga, we encourage you to experience one of the city's most beloved traditions. It will surely become one of the highlights of your first summer in Málaga!
