Málaga French Film Festival 2026: A Week of Cinema and Francophone Culture
From October 16 to 23, Málaga once again celebrates Francophone culture with the 32nd edition of the Málaga French Film Festival.
For one week, the city will host premieres, short films, meetings with filmmakers, concerts and cultural activities across different venues.

Much More Than French Cinema
The Official Selection will feature 13 films from France, Québec, Cameroon, Belgium, Switzerland and other French-speaking countries. Seven of them are directorial debuts, making the festival a perfect opportunity to discover new voices in international cinema.
Cine Albéniz will be one of the festival's main venues, while events will also take place at the Centre Pompidou Málaga, La Térmica, Teatro Cánovas and other locations around the city.
Cinema, Music and Something for Everyone
In addition to film screenings, the festival includes talks, exhibitions, family activities and special events such as the ciné-concert of Paris Qui Dort on October 17, featuring live musical accompaniment.
And you don't need to speak French: films are screened in their original language with Spanish subtitles.
Málaga, More International Than Ever
Events like the French Film Festival are a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the cultural diversity that is increasingly part of life in Málaga.
At Welcome Málaga, we want to help you not only settle in, but also discover everything that makes your new home special.
Welcome Málaga Tip: Check the programme in advance. Some screenings require tickets, while many of the festival's parallel activities are free or open to the public until capacity is reached.
